Halftones
In an attempt to learn about gradient halftoning for a new identity, I used this sketch to practice.
The words come from Autoclave, by The Mountain Goats. An Autoclave is used tp clean and sanitize lab materials. No organic matter emerges from an autoclave alive or unscathed. The song uses this odd metaphor to describe the environment of the singers heart. I have always been captivated by these words and I couldn't resist when the image of a soapy heart popped into my head.

This project was a practice in collaboration and experimentation in new art forms. Each component was new to the artists. Ethan (my brother) is practicing Opera at UCO. This made him the ideal choice to react to the mood and timing of Denver's music, who is more accustomed to learning other's music than writing his own. I have never animated anything outside of Keynote. Stylistically it is not the most accomplished piece I've done, but I enjoyed working with and reacting to the art of others. There will potentially be more to come in the Plath collection.
